Vanpool
Get where you are going faster, easier and cheaper.

Votran Vanpool Program provides assistance to commuters who live in Volusia County. Many commuters in the vanpool program travel outside of Volusia County to work each day. By vanpooling, these commuters save themselves stress, time and money. The vans used in Votran’s Vanpool Program are purchased by the County with Federal capital grants; they are leased to both commuters and human service agencies (501C3 agencies - some restrictions do apply) at a rate that includes all maintenance, insurance and administration fees. Commuters that live in the same area and work in the same location form vanpools of 4-8 people and travel in a modern van provided through this program.

  • Tax Free Benefits: Employers may provide employees with up to $230 per month in tax-free transit and vanpool benefits. Find out more! Tax Free Benefits
  • Convenient: Vanpool members decide on a flexible route and schedule. For convenience, many passengers meet at centralized Park & Ride Lots.
  • Affordable: Vanpooling means no wear and tear on your car, saving on gas, maintenance as well as qualifying for possible discounts on auto insurance.
  • Reduces Stress: Vanpool members reduce stress just by sharing the driving with other members. Additionally, traveling in groups enhances personal safety.

Vanpooling is extremely attractive to those commuters with a significant commute of over 100 miles per day. Per person expense depends on the commute distance (fuel expense) and the total number of riders. For passengers, vanpooling provides a low cost, convenient, stress-free commute.

At Votran, all van maintenance is done onsite by a professional, highly trained mechanic. There is never a question of where and when the van will be serviced, Vans are examined on a monthly basis and mechanics are available for real-time issues that need to be addressed.
