Votran routes/schedules change Jan. 13

Votran will implement the following route and schedule changes beginning Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008.

WEST VOLUSIA

Route 20- This route is being split into two routes. The changed route will begin at Market Place Shopping Center in Orange City and head north to Northgate Plaza. Leaving Northgate, it will proceed to Wal-Mart in north DeLand before heading south toward Market Place Shopping Center. Existing stops will continue to be served. A new Route 23 will serve what used to be the other leg of the Route 20, serving DeBary and Deltona.

Routes 21 and 22- Will begin at Market Place Shopping Center and head south on Enterprise Road. The routes continue along Providence Blvd., serving the Publix Shopping Center at Doyle Road and Providence Boulevard, then continues on to serve the Deltona Community/Senior Center on Lake Shore Drive. The route will no longer go inside the parking lot of Deltona Plaza Shopping Center. That stop will be relocated next to the lighted pedestrian crossing on Deltona Blvd. The Kimberly/Austin Loop will be discontinued. Both routes will begin serving the new Wal-Mart Supercenter at Howland Boulevard and S.R. 415. The routes continue along Providence Blvd., serving the Publix Shopping Center at Doyle Road and Providence Boulevard, then on to serve the Deltona Community/Senior Center on Lake Shore Drive.

Route 23- This new route starts at Market Place Shopping Center and heads south on Hwy 17/92 to Debary. It then turns northbound at Columba/Angeles (no longer serves Spring Vista Drive). At Market Place Shopping Center/Saxon Boulevard, the route heads to Florida Hospital Fish Memorial, then toward Deltona. The route will no longer serve the Deltona Regional Library, but will turn at Providence Boulevard/Fort Smith Boulevard and head back toward Market Place. The route will use Saxon Boulevard to Tivoli Drive, to Providence Boulevard to Fort Smith Boulevard, then to Elkcam Boulevard.

Route 24- Service will be reduced to three trips per weekday and Saturday. Weekday runs will be 5:40 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Saturday runs will be 7:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
