Volusia County holiday shoppers can avoid the stress of holiday traffic,
crowded parking lots and long walks to their vehicles. Votran fixed route
service will observe “10 cent Saturdays/Sundays” throughout Volusia County
December 1-31.
“This is in appreciation of our loyal riders and an opportunity for
people to ride Votran, maybe for the first time, for a dime,” said Votran
General Manager Lois Bollenback. “The fixed route night service and the
Route 60 Saturday service makes shopping more convenient for riders. There's
not much to lose but a dime and a little of your time and you get to see
what our transit service is all about.”
Normally, adults 18-64 pay $1.25 to ride. Children, senior citizens and
those with proof of disability pay 60 cents. The 10-cent rate does not apply
to Votran’s Gold Service, and does not include transfers from one bus to
another.
“Ride for a dime and shop in Volusia County,” Bollenback added. “Happy
Holidays from your friends at Votran.”
