Former Votran manager inducted into Transportation Hall of Fame

Ken Fischer, former general manager of Votran, recently was inducted into the Florida Public Transportation Association’s Hall of Fame. Fischer, who led Votran from 1980 - 2005, is now managing director for McDonald Transit Associates’ southeast operations.

The FPTA web site describes Fischer as a leader in the transportation industry and credits him with transitioning the responsibilities of paratransit services from the Volusia County Council on Aging to the public transit system in 1994.

Fischer is a former chairman of the Florida Public Transportation Association and past president of the Port Orange/South Daytona Chamber of Commerce. He also served on the boards of the Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged and Florida’s Department of Children and Families.
