Votran adds pass sales outlets to keep up with demand

With the introduction at the beginning of the year of one-day, three-day, seven-day, and 31-day passes for Votran riders, a growing number of passengers are taking advantage of pre-paying their bus fares. As a result, Votran is partnering with county libraries for pass sales. Three Volusia County libraries now offer Votran passes.

“Since there were parts of the county with no Votran sales outlets, an effort was made to find convenient places to purchase Votran passes,” said Gary Willoughby, Votran assistant general manager of customer service. “Volusia County Library Services stepped up and offered to sell passes in three county libraries.”

Riders in West Volusia can purchase passes at the Deltona Regional Library, 2150 Eustace Ave. The Deltona Library can be reached by bus routes 20, 21, and 22 Monday -Saturday.

East side Votran riders also have a new location to purchase bus passes. The Ormond Beach Regional Library, 30 South Beach St., will sell all four Votran fixed route bus passes. The Ormond Beach Library can be reached by bus routes 1B and 3 every day. Southeast Volusia riders can purchase passes at the New Smyrna Beach Regional library which is served by route 41 Monday - Saturday. These libraries are open seven days a week except for the New Smyrna Beach Regional library which is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

With the addition of the libraries, Votran riders now have sales outlets in New Smyrna Beach (Council on Aging in the Brannon Center), South Daytona (Votran office), Daytona Beach (Downtown Transfer Plaza), Ormond Beach, Deltona, Orange City (Hair-Trek in the Market Place Shopping Center) and DeLand (County Administration Center). All outlets are served by fixed route bus routes.

“We also are looking for a sales outlet in Port Orange,” said Willoughby, “We’d like to make things as convenient as possible for our riders.”
